Todoist keyboard shortcuts

The most useful Todoist shortcuts are Q to add a task from anywhere, G then T to go to Today, E to complete the selected task and ? to show every shortcut. Below is the full list for the Todoist web app, which also works in Chrome and inside New Tab ist, plus the quick-add syntax and a few Chrome shortcuts that pair well with Todoist.

On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl wherever this page says ⌘. Single-letter shortcuts work when you are not typing in a text field; press Esc first if nothing happens.

When adding a task, you can type its details in the title and Todoist fills them in:

The fastest loop we know: ⌘ + T to see your list, click into it, then Q to capture a task or E to complete one.

What is the Todoist quick add shortcut?

Press Q anywhere in the Todoist web or desktop app. The desktop apps also offer a global shortcut that works outside Todoist, set in Todoist's settings.

How do I see all Todoist shortcuts?

Press ? in Todoist to open the full, up-to-date list.

Do Todoist shortcuts work in New Tab ist?

Yes. The tab shows the real Todoist web app: click into the list once, then every shortcut works as on todoist.com.

Why don't single-letter shortcuts work?

They are disabled while you type in a field. Press Esc to leave the field, then try again.
